The sublime transfigured into movie soundtrack
Interview recorded by Nicoleta Nap
The Autograf newspaper, no.4, May 2007
Aaron Fazakas was kind enough to share in the interview below his future plans as far as his activity as a composer was concerned and to reveal a few facets of "his way of life" - music. Rep.: What are your latest projects? A.F.: At the moment, I'm writing the music for a ballet called "The Little Match Girl", after Hans Ch. Andersen's story with the same title. Music's programmatic content presents, by comparison, the winter holidays atmosphere of joy and brightness contrasting with a little girl's cold, darkness and loneliness, whose worthless end … more >>

The Foaia Transilvană newspaper, 1 March 2007
A hall concert in Cluj, in the summer of 2005. The newly composed music work is being played. As usual, the audience is being tortured by the "horrors" so dear to Romanian composers. Suddenly, without any warning, the air vibrates with elevating, deep music, like in the times when the composers truly were gifted. The author's name is Aaron Fazakas. The work bears the name "Stalactite": «One day, on the Internet I came across a photo taken in a cave. I looked at the photograph, it captivated me, it generated a flow of … more >>

The Musical Autumn in Cluj Festival XXXVIII Edition - Concert Review
by Nagy-Hintós Diana
The Szabadság newspaper, 16 October 2004
Aaron Fazakas’ piece, entitled "STALACTITE – The Silent Witness" is characterized by the tasteful blend of different music styles. The creation has three parts – Entry, Inside, Exit –, and it contains programmatic music elements. The mental elements dominate, joined by a surprisingly pleasant melodic world. It is an imaginary trip from baroque Italy to the romantic Tchaikovsky. The different timbral effects of the string instruments play an important role.
